Over the years, the Indian players have shared a mutual bond with so many ups and downs with the media. There have been days when an individual has given straight answers, while in a few other cases, they have delivered savage replies.
But there were many instance where the players have come up with a few savage press conferences, where they have shocked the media personals.

1. MS Dhoni on Virender Sehwag’s absence
The former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, was present in the press conference when there were rumors between the wicket-keeper and the opening batter, Virender Sehwag.
After Sehwag’s injury, he was absent from the training session, and the Ranchi-born suggested that the reporter should have asked the question to Sehwag’s physio.
“Maybe you should ask his physio to issue a press release.” Dhoni addressed.
2. “Will you drop Rohit Sharma?”- Virat Kohli
The former captain, Virat Kohli, coming into the press conference, faced the question of whether the national side should look to drop Rohit Sharma after their defeat against Pakistan in the opening T20 World Cup 2021 game.

A stunned Kohli appeared speechless after hearing the question and called it a brave question.
“What is your opinion? Will you drop Rohit Sharma from T20 internationals? You'll drop Rohit Sharma?” Kohli elaborated.
3. Rohit Sharma on becoming Pakistan’s coach
After the Green Brigade’s defeat against India in the 2019 ODI World Cup, one reporter asked for advice on improving Pakistan’s batting from Rohit Sharma. The Nagpur-born gave a savage suggestion for the future.
“If I am appointed as Pakistan’s coach, I would tell them,” Rohit said.
4. MS Dhoni’s priceless gift
The former batter gave another example of the savage replies in the press conference, when the Indian actress, Mandira Bedi, asked Dhoni about the most priceless gift he has ever received.
Dhoni thought about a good answer when Bedi whispered ‘my daughter’ in his ear, but the veteran quickly gave a savage answer.
“It’s not a gift but hard work,” Dhoni replied.
5. “Okay, Thanks”- Virat Kohli
After their Lord’s Test victory, India faced a tough loss in Headingley against England in the 2021 series. In the press conference, a reporter opined that the touring batters were missing the runs because of going on the back foot.
Kohli turned to the reporter and claimed, “Okay, thanks.”
6. Rohit Sharma on Rishabh Pant batting at No. 4
During India’s World Cup 2019 game against England, a reporter asked if Rohit was surprised to see Rishabh Pant batting at number four ahead of the veterans.
“Not really because you all guys wanted Rishabh Pant to play, right? Right from India, you were asking where Rishabh Pant is. Here is Rishabh Pant. There he is at no.4,” The former captain highlighted.
7. “I am not ICC”- Rohit Sharma
In 2019, one reporter asked for Rohit’s statement after the ICC banned the left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan for failing to report a match-fixing scandal.
“I am not ICC,” Rohit replied about his response on the matter.
8. MS Dhoni on not using Harbhajan Singh
Before the final of the IPL 2018 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings leader, was asked why he didn’t give an over to Harbhajan Singh during the first qualifier.
Dhoni, after a while, compared the matter of how he would not be able to drive all of his cars and bikes at the same time.

After the Blue Brigade’s defeat in 2016 during the T20I series, one of the reporters asked Dhoni why he denied the helicopter shot as often as he used to do in the past.
“See, you don’t fly a helicopter under the ocean or in a submarine. In the same way, u play a helicopter shot to a certain delivery. I can’t hit it off a bouncer, maybe if I stand on a stool and go for it.” Dhoni stated.
