Just like the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the Rajasthan Royals (RR) went through a difficult period during IPL 2025. They mostly invested in the young players in the past and have done the same during this season, just before the mega auction.
The 2008 champions' surprising decision to release Jos Buttler, one of their veteran wicketkeepers and opening batters, and retain a few uncapped players for a huge price was a surprise. Few of their youngster over whom the franchise displayed trust have performed, including the opening batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who crossed the 500-run mark with the bat. On the flip side, Riyan Parag led them in Sanju Samson’s absence and contributed immensely.
Rajasthan Royals slipped in most of the games because of their batting, where they failed to add runs under pressure during the death overs. They finished the campaign with four wins in 14 encounters at a net run rate of -0.549.
