Rajasthan Royals, for the entire IPL 2025, were inconsistent with their all-around performances. They are currently at the penultimate position in the points table with four victories at a net run rate of -0.549.

Going back home, they will look back at a few games that they should have won. However, they couldn’t handle the pressure and failed with the bat in the death overs. Out of the four victories, the first two came in the four encounters, which showed how poor they were in the middle phase.

Meanwhile, for the Rajasthan Royals, a few youngsters stepped up in vital situations while most of the batters, whom they trusted, displayed better performances with the bat. They invested a lot in Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel, but neither of these players could stand up in vital moments.

Apart from Jofra Archer, their bowling department looked dull. There was not much pace to trouble the batters and swing to question the outside and inside edge of the blade. Meanwhile, Wanindu Hasaranga shouldered the responsibility of the entire spin bowling department this year.

Here are the four players Rajasthan Royals will retain for IPL 2026

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal

The left-handed opening batter for the Rajasthan Royals, Yashasvi Jaiswal, finished as the fifth-leading run-getter of the season. He clubbed 559 runs in 14 innings at an average of 43 and a strike rate of nearly 160, thanks to six half-centuries at the best score of 75 runs.

On the other hand, in Sanju Samson’s absence for a few games, the pressure was on the Mumbai-born to provide the side a few strong starts with the bat. He showed incredible resilience with the bat on many occasions during the competition.

2. Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals, undoubtedly, will retain their captain and wicket-keeper batter, Sanju Samson, for the IPL 2025. The 30-year-old missed a lot of games in the middle half of the competition due to injury. Interestingly, he didn’t get back his opening position.

Samson, during the nine innings of the IPL 2025, smashed 285 runs at an average of 35.62 and a strike rate of 140.39, thanks to one half-century at the best score of 66 runs.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan will be tempted to retain the right-handed batter, who has now been a vital member of the squad for the previous few years. If they could hold Vaibhav Suryavanshi for the next year, then Samson will have to find his new batting position.

3. Riyan Parag

The young top-order batter from Assam, Riyan Parag, is expected to be the Rajasthan Royals’ third retention for the IPL 2026. After his 573 runs last year at a strike rate of 150, expectations grew.

Meanwhile, Parag continued to impress the management with another powerful season. The right-handed batter clubbed 393 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 166.52, thanks to the 95-run knock against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Parag developed his batting against the spinners, where he, of late, hardly looks to keep the ball on the ground and uses his power to break the fence.

4. Vaibhav Suryavanshi

With Jofra Archer in the squad, most would want to keep him on the side. However, the Rajasthan Royals have the knack of showing belief in the youngsters. And, Vaibhav Suryavanshi could be another inclusion in the list.

The southpaw, who is just 14 years of age, slammed 265 runs in eight innings at an average of 33.12 and a strike rate of 207.03, thanks to one fifty-and-one century.

He looked fresh and didn’t have the baggage of expectation on his shoulders. However, next year will be a different equation for the youngster.
