Here is the list of 5 celebrities who have openly mocked Virat Kohli's fan base

1. David Warner

The former Australian opening batter, David Warner, is one of the cricketers who had some public controversies with Virat Kohli and his fans in the past. It’s the incident from the 2020-2021 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) where Warner made a few sarcastic comments on Kohli’s fans’ behavior on social media after Virat was destroyed for his poor show. Warner poked at Kohli’s fans, which went viral.

2. Robin Uthappa

The former Indian wicket-keeper opening batter, Robin Uthappa, reckoned that Virat Kohli was one of the main reasons behind Ambati Rayudu not being part of the 2019 World Cup in England. He mocked him his stating that the selectors would not have selected a player if Kohli didn't like that individual.

"If he (Virat Kohli) didn't like anyone, he didn't feel someone was good, then they were cut. (Ambati) Rayudu is the prime example. You feel bad. Everybody has preferences, I agree, but you cannot close the door on a player after taking him to the cusp." Uthappa shed light on the given reason for Rayudu's exclusion.

3. Sanjay Manjrekar

The former Indian batter, Sanjay Manjrekar, during the pre-show of the IPL 2025 contest between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Mumbai Indians, reckoned that there is no meaning in showing Kohli's battle with Jasprit Bumrah as the best vs best.

The veteran batter reckoned that the former Indian T20I batter has gone off his prime time, and it hasn't been the same batter as five to six years ago.

"Virat Kohli is well past his prime, and that we should stop viewing his faceoff with Jasprit Bumrah as a 'best vs best battle." Manjrekar shed light.

4. Shoaib Akhtar

The former Pakistani pacer, Shoaib Akhtar, has made his name for his blunt remarks and various opinions. He took a dig at Virat Kohli, regarding the hype of the batter, and mocked the support the batter received from his fans, suggesting that it feels exaggerated and overdone.

He expressed how his fans go overboard with the support, defending the players in different situations. Akhtar also expressed that Kohli’s fans would worship him like a god, which borders on absurdity.

"Virat would have been competitive (in our era). He could have faced difficulties, but he would have scored the runs he has scored now. We (bowlers) would have faced a similar beating, but playing Wasim Akram is not easy." The pacer mocked the batter.

5. Aakash Chopra

During the recent Indian Premier League (IPL), there was a question for the fans, where it was asked to pick the best powerplay bowler between Mohammed Siraj and Trent Boult. Siraj's popularity saved him in this aspect and got a 63% vote over the New pacer.

But the former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra, during the commentary stint, looked a dig at Kohli by reminding all how much the former Indian batter has struggled against Boult.

"Mohammed Siraj is voted the most impactful powerplay bowler over Trent Boult. Virat Kohli would disagree." Chopra addressed.
