After being made fun of by Indian fans for praising Virat Kohli on his Instagram account, Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed has revealed his true colors. Abrar Ahmed posted a collage of some of his interactions with Virat Kohli during the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy match between India and Pakistan.
"Bowling to my childhood hero Virat Kohli," Abrar said on X, praising the Indian batting legend for his humanity. His humility as a person is the only thing that can equal his ability as a cricket player, so I'm grateful for his praise. An amazing role model both on and off the field!
His controversial send-off to Shubman Gill during the India-Pakistan match in Dubai, where the Men in Blue defeated the Men in Green by six wickets last week, sparked a barrage of criticism from Indian supporters in the comment section as soon as the clip went viral on social media.

The Pakistani spinner's stunt, according to many admirers, was merely an attempt to boost his social media following and rectify his passionate celebration following Shubman Gill's dismissal in Dubai.
Following the outcry from Indian followers on Instagram, Abrar went so far as to make fun of them over the case of Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
Abrar posted a picture of himself dressed in green and white attire with a cup of tea in hand, and he wrote in the caption, “Having the last cup of FANTASTIC evening TEA before Ramadan begins.☕️”

Since this message was connected to Abhinandan Varthaman's issue, it infuriated Indian fans, and he has since been under fire on social media once more.
Notably, Pakistan responded to India's 2019 Balakot bombing by shooting down two Indian fighter jets that had crossed its airspace, capturing Abhinandan Varthaman.

In a later social media video, Pakistan showed the Indian general calmly praising the tea he was served and recognizing the care he had from the Pakistani military, stating, "Tea is fantastic."
That phrase has since become meme material for Pakistanis. Later, as a gesture of peace, Abhinandan was released and sent back to India on March 1.
Here is the fan reaction to Abrar Ahmed’s post:

These Pakistanis cricketer worship Virat Kohli, but everyone knows their true colours and reality. So don’t run behind him just because he praised Virat.

This individual, Abrar Ahmed, a Pakistani bowler, is trolling India with an Instagram post, as he did with Shubman Gill in that CT match. It's pretty evident that he seeks attention within his country. This guy needs to be taught a lesson. @ShubmanGill hope you read this tweet. pic.twitter.com/vnHehavYrG
