Arshdeep Singh’s Spot In Indian Squad For England Test Tour Confirmed

Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm pace bowler for the India National Cricket Team who is 26 years old, is probably going to be traveling to England for the forthcoming red-ball series, according to a Telegraph article.

The five-match Test series is part of India's England trip. The well-known series is expected to start on June 20 and conclude on August 4. India A will play two four-day matches in England before the main series commences.

Arshdeep has been in fine form in IPL 2025

The 26-year-old has taken 16 wickets at an economy rate of 8.70 and a strike rate of 15.1 in 11 innings this season, demonstrating incredible consistency. He has demonstrated the maturity to manage the swing in Dharamsala's cold weather.

He is a smart option because of his aggressive intent and good rhythm, and he has proven that he can succeed outside of the T20 format. His performance in the Champions Trophy is a clear sign of that.

Arshdeep’s stint with Kent in the English County Championship in 2023, where he took 13 wickets in five games, helped him learn the benefits of hitting the good lengths. He ended up bowling 161.4 overs, which proved to be a learning curve in terms of adjusting to the red ball.

Even former India coach Ravi Shastri feels having a left-arm pacer in the squad will benefit the Indian team in England.

“I do not like this thing when they say someone like Arshdeep Singh is a ‘white-ball specialist.’ I will keep a close eye on his red-ball record as well and the number of overs he bowls. If he can bowl 15-20 overs for me, he might very well be in the mix because he’s got the mindset. He is a thinking bowler, and I need a left-armer. It is just that,” Shastri told ICC.

Arshdeep Singh can prove to be a handful in England, especially with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami’s fitness under a cloud.
