Babar Azam Insults Virat Kohli! Doesn’t Name Him In His World T20I XI

Babar Azam, ace Pakistan batter, chose his World XI in T20Is during a chat on a podcast with Peshawar Zalmi. Babar is the captain of the Zalmi team that is currently engaged in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL X) tournament.
PSL 2025, which was postponed last week, will continue on May 17, with the final set for May 25, according to confirmation from Mohsin Naqvi, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Babar Azam has struggled in the ongoing PSL 2025 for his Peshawar Zalmi team. He has made only 178 runs in 8 matches with an average of 29.66 and a strike rate of 109.87, which has been a matter of contention amongst his fans. His best score has been 56*, and he has hit only 3 sixes and 20 fours.
Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah insulted as Babar Azam picks Rohit Sharma in his World T20I XI
On a podcast with Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam was asked to share his World XI in T20Is, based on best performers. Incidentally, Babar Azam picked only two Pakistani batters and none of the famed fast bowlers from his country.
Babar Azam also left out legends like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah while choosing his World XI in T20Is.
For openers, Babar Azam chose Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Rizwan. Rohit Sharma is the leading run-getter in T20Is with 4231 runs in 159 games with 5 centuries and 32 fifties to his name. His average was 32.05, and his strike rate was 140.89. Rohit retired from T20Is after India’s T20 World Cup win in 2024.
Mohammad Rizwan has 3414 runs in T20Is in 106 games with 1 century and 30 fifties to his name at a strike rate of 125.27.
Suryakumar Yadav makes way in the middle order with Jos Buttler; Fakhar Zaman included
Fakhar Zaman, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jos Buttler were chosen by Babar Azam as the middle order of his World T20I XI. Fakhar Zaman has 1848 runs in 92 T20Is with 11 fifties, while Suryakumar Yadav has 2598 runs in 83 T20Is with 4 centuries and 21 fifties with a strike rate of 167.07.
Jos Buttler has 3535 runs in 134 T20Is with one ton and 26 fifties to his name. David Miller comes next with 2591 runs in 130 T20Is with 2 centuries and 18 fifties to his name. Marco Jansen was chosen for his left-arm pace and ability to hit big shots in the end.
Babar Azam goes pace heavy, picks three proper pacers
Rashid Khan is the lone spinner in Babar Azam’s XI with his impressive record of 161 wickets in 96 T20Is.
Babar Azam went heavy pace with Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Mark Wood completing the World T20I XI. Cummins has 66 wickets in 57 T20Is, Starc has 79 wickets in 65 T20Is, and Wood has 54 wickets in 32 T20Is.
