Babar Azam’s father Azam Siddique has lashed out at former Pakistani cricketers for using harsh statements to criticize his son’s ongoing poor form with the bat. He stressed that if someone replies to them back, they won't be able to tolerate it.

Babar Azam has recently been the target of harsh criticism for his subpar performances. Many have questioned the star batter's position on the team because he hasn't had a significant impact in recent years.

Babar Azam’s poor form with the bat continues

Babar recently participated in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with the Pakistan National Cricket side, however, he was unable to help the side win. The team's hitters struggled in the first inning. He scored fifty runs against New Zealand, although his strike rate was quite low, particularly during a chase of almost 320.

Babar Azam only managed to score 23 runs in the match against India, and Pakistan National Cricket was eliminated in the group stage. The batter received a lot of criticism; Shoaib Akhtar called him a fake, while others expressed worries over his future with the squad.

Babar was left off the squad for the T20I series against New Zealand, despite having been a member of the ICC T20I Team of the Year in 2024. Since PCB chose to advance from the senior players in the game's shortest format, the batter has only been mentioned in ODIs.

If someone answers back: Babar Azam’s father gives a strict warning to his son’s critics

Azam Siddique, father of Babar Azam criticized his son's exclusion from the T20I Team and said that his performances in the PSL and National T20 Cup will help him make a comeback. Additionally, he asked past players to control their remarks, stating that they would not be accepted.

"Boss is Always Right. Member of ICC's Twenty20 of the year team and even after getting the cap, he will drop. It is okay. He will perform in the National T20 and the PSL. Insha Allah, he will come back soon after performing in the team. That's the only respectable. They are very big former players. They are requested to keep their words right. If someone answers back, they may not be able to tolerate it. You are the past and the door will never open,” Azam’s father wrote on Instagram.

Former Pakistan players warned

Babar Azam's father further launched an attack on former players, saying that people who listen to them should look at what they did in their time.

"Some others say that if the father speaks more, then in the Holy Prophet. He is his first and last coach, spokesperson, mentor, and the most well-wisher and father in the world, so those who do not have or are not capable of it, please be patient and it is a request to the cricket lovers who have been shouting day and night for them. Before listening to what they did in their time, look at the PCB website once. A hint is enough for the rest of the wise. Pakistan Zindabad,” he added.
