Jaydeep Bihani, the convener of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad-hoc committee, charged the match-fixing allegation on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2025 during their recent home clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Rajasthan Royals were in a comfortable situation to win the game when Yashasvi Jaiswal batted with full flow. But they kept losing wickets at the wrong intervals. Shimron Hetmyer nailed the leg-side delivery into the hands of the fine-leg fielder as they fell short of the target by two runs.

RR replies to match-fixing allegation on defeat vs LSG

The inaugural champions, in a strongly worded letter carrying the subject line of ‘reporting defamatory content’, have highlighted how his comments have undermined the team and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“The statements made by the convener are without evidence and only to stir unnecessary controversy. They undermine not just the Royals but also Royal Multi-Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, the BCCI, and the game of cricket itself.” Rajasthan Royals’ letter reads as written.

Bihani, who is sitting MLA for Sri Ganganagar, claimed that the last-over thriller between Lucknow and Rajasthan was a fixed encounter. The senior BCCI official, as quoted by the Times of India, has eliminated the claim and predicted that it could be because of the upcoming RCA elections.

“The RCA is currently dissolved. An ad-hoc committee has been formed, and with the elections approaching, there is a lot of drama. Everyone wants attention. The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit working 24/7 to keep bad elements from the game. There is no truth to these allegations.” The BCCI official reflected on the situation.

Battle for IPL 2025 tickets between Rajasthan Royals and RCA

The Rajasthan Royals are not happy with the comments, and the tickets could be the main reason behind the development. In the past, the RCA used to get 1800 tickets for every home game, but this time around, the number has dropped down to 1000-1200.

It’s nearly the same issue that was resolved a few weeks ago between the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

"At the start of the season, the BCCI gave us a clear guideline that since the RCA is dissolved, we would be dealing with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) for all arrangements.” The RR insider has expressed, as reported by the Times of India.

“The disgruntled member of the RCA ad-hoc committee and his associates are demanding an exorbitant amount of tickets, and we are not entertaining them. It is the sole reason behind all this drama.” He added.

RCA is disappointed with the non-involvement in RR's management

The BJP MLA has also accused the Rajasthan Royals of keeping the RCA away from getting involved in the management of the ongoing 2025 season. In the letter, the 2008 champions stated that BCCI guidelines are the reason for ditching the RCA in the local games.

“We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the support being extended by the RSSC and the state government. As you are aware, RMPL and its team are working tirelessly to make the matches in Jaipur a grand success.” The letter shares the message.

“In this context, we would deeply appreciate any assistance in fostering a supportive environment that allows all stakeholders to remain focused on delivering a world-class tournament experience.” It explains.

The Rajasthan Royals' home encounter will be against the Gujarat Titans on April 28.
