BCCI Humiliates PCB With Stupendous Cash Reward For India's Champions Trophy Winning Team

Following the Indian Team's historic victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 earlier this month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a huge monetary prize of INR 58 crore on Thursday, March 20.
The players, coaching staff, support staff, and the Ajit Agarkar-led India National Selection Committee will all get this award in appreciation of their exceptional contributions to the team's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory, the BCCI stated in the official media release.
India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 win
The India National Cricket Team finished the event undefeated under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. The Men in Blue defeated Bangladesh by six wickets to begin their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, and they then defeated Pakistan by six wickets.
Before defeating Australia by four wickets in the semi-final to go to the finals, they maintained their winning record in the most recent Champions Trophy 2025 with a 44-run victory over New Zealand.
At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on March 9, Rohit Sharma and company defeated the Black Caps by four wickets to win the Champions Trophy for the third time ever. In less than ten months, this was India's second ICC title victory.
Roger Binny praises Indian team’s huge achievement
The Indian Board's president, Roger Binny, announced the award, saying that winning back-to-back ICC crowns is unique and deserves appreciation for their effort and excellence on the international scene. Binny stated that the revealed monetary incentive recognizes everyone's hard work behind the scenes.
Roger Binny stated, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.”
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia congratulates team India
Meanwhile, the Indian Board's Secretary Devajit Saikia complimented the Men in Blue's hard effort and supremacy, stating that their Champions Trophy victory maintains their top position in white ball cricket. He expressed optimism that the team would continue to establish new records in ICC events.
Devajit Saikia stated, “The BCCI is proud to honor the players and support staff with this well-deserved reward. Their dominance in world cricket is a result of years of hard work and strategic execution.
