BCCI makes this special provision for KKR ahead of IPL 2025

For the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have unveiled their new uniform. This jersey from the previous IPL season has several fresh alterations.

In the jersey launch video posted on the team's social media account, the team's top cricketers—Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Vaibhav Arora, Anukul Roy, Manish Pandey, Mayank Markande, and Luvnith Sisodia—were spotted wearing the new uniform.

One of the two clubs that hasn't revealed its captain for the 2025 IPL season is the Kolkata Knight Riders. Shreyas Iyer, their captain from the previous season, chose to enter the mega-auction last year and was ultimately selected by the Punjab Kings.

Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, and Rovman Powell are currently among the contenders, although no name has been decided upon as of yet.

KKR’s new jersey with 3 stars on the badge unveiled for IPL 2025

The jersey's three stars display their three IPL championship victories. They took home their first championship in 2012, and they did it again in 2014. Gautam Gambhir was the captain for the first two championship victories and was the mentor of the side when KKR won in IPL 2024.

They most recently won a championship in 2024 after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the season finale. It's interesting to note that Gautam Gambhir rejoined the squad, but this time in a mentoring capacity.

In the official jersey launch video, which KKR released, team supporters can be heard continually reciting the "Number 3," which alludes to the franchise's three previous titles. KKR have also registered three stars around the Gemini constellation, each symbolizing their title victories in 2012 (Korbo), 2014 (Lorbo), and 2024 (Jeetbo).

What does the Golden Badge indicate?

In addition to the three stars on the shirt, there is a unique golden IPL badge on the arm. As the reigning champions going into the event, the badge sets them apart from the rest.

In order to honor the reigning champions, the IPL established the golden badge. As the reigning champions, KKR will go into the next tournament having won the title the year before.

Under Shreyas Iyer's leadership, KKR won the IPL 2024 season with a resounding victory. After winning the group stage, they stepped up their performance in the playoffs and the championship game.
