The Australian all-rounder, Cameron Green, is glad after going through back surgery and hopes to continue his preparation for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 final through the County Cricket. He added that he would be happy to bat at any position for the national side as a batter only.
Green, since his major back surgery last October, spoke in Perth as part of the side’s wide fixture for the 2025-26 summer. He is keen to return to Gloucestershire as he heads to England next week. But he also reckoned that had Western Australia qualified for the Sheffield Shield final, he would have taken part in the clash.

“The surgery has been incredible. I think I was probably off my legs for about two weeks. And after that, I've been doing gym work for the last four or five months, running for the last two months, and bending for the last month. It's been pretty seamless. So, yeah, pretty happy I got it done.” Cameron Green expressed at the press conference.
“It's for the long-term goal of playing cricket for as long as I can. Bowling for as long as I can. I got it for that reason solely. Obviously, I could have healed [the stress fracture] over nine months, but I took the option to get the surgery, and hopefully, fingers crossed, that's the last of it, which would be nice.” The 25-year-old addressed.

Cameron Green eyes successful stint with Gloucestershire
Green heads to the county side for a five-game stint as he eyes a place in the national side for the WTC 2023-25 final. Steve Smith’s prolific return at four and Travis Head’s continuous aggressive five with Beau Webster’s star performance in the maiden Test have made the journey tough for the lanky all-rounder.
“I think we've got an ultra-successful top five, six, seven, so it's never easy. But that's where you want it to be in a Test team. You want someone to rise to the challenge, take that position for themselves, and that's what's been done.” Cameron Green highlighted.
“They've had another ultra-successful summer, and I was so happy watching. But at the same time, you always want to get back into the team. So we'll wait and see what happens.” The Perth-born mentioned.
Nathan Lyon confirms full fitness for WTC 2023-25 final
Along with Cameron Green, questions were raised regarding Nathan Lyon’s fitness. The veteran spinner struggled with a hip injury during the recent series against India and Sri Lanka, but is confident of helping them claim the second consecutive mace.
