Kris Srikkanth has revealed his pick for the top 4 teams in the IPL 2025 those will feature in the playoffs stage. As almost half of the matches in the ongoing IPL 2025 season have been played, his selection has been quite shocking to say the least.

For the current IPL 2025, the former Indian chief selector has selected the Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru as his top four options.

Although the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been playing exceptionally well, many were taken aback by Srikkanth's choice to start the struggling Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

With eight points apiece, DC and RCB are in second and third place, respectively, while CSK is currently at the bottom of the rankings. MI moved up to ninth place after defeating Delhi in their most recent match.

While RCB has lost two of their eight tournament games thus far, DC has only lost one of their five games. However, MI has only won two of its six games in the competition, while CSK has lost five straight after winning their season opener.

Srikkanth is optimistic that the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will both recover and end the season strongly, joining RCB and DC. He added that his favorite teams are MI and CSK.

On being asked to pick his top 4 on his YouTube channel, Cheeky Cheeka, Kris Srikkanth said, “RCB, DC. I still believe MI and CSK will bounce back. MI, CSK, RCB, DC. Why should I give up on my favorite teams, MI and CSK (laughing)? RCB will also come there.”

Kris Srikkanth wants Ravichandran Ashwin dropped from the CSK Playing XI

Ravichandran Ashwin's subpar bowling performance for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 Indian Premier League has drawn criticism from Kris Srikkanth. After years of unwavering support for Ashwin, Srikkanth stated that he now believes it's time to remove him from the starting lineup so he can understand how important his position is.

Ashwin has only taken five wickets in six games this season, demonstrating his lack of performance. His economy rate has increased to 9.90, and his bowling average is currently 39.60.

“Ashwin is bowling terribly. He’s bowling very, very poorly. I’m not sure if Ashwin will be in the XI for the next game after bowling like this. If you ask me, drop him. Ravindra Jadeja isn’t at his peak. Ashwin is bowling terribly. I want him dropped. But I’m not sure if CSK will actually go through with it,” he stated.

LSG, their next opponents, have quite a few left-handers. It remains to be seen whether CSK will make a bold call and leave him out. I’ve always backed Ashwin. But now, I want him dropped. Let him sit out for a couple of matches—only then will he understand the value of his place. Only then will he come back stronger,” he added.
