Dale Steyn, former South Africa legend, has named his top five pacers from the current time. When selecting his current top five quicks in One Day Internationals, Dale Steyn failed to include Australia's speed trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood.

The record for the most Test wickets taken by South Africa is still held by Dale Steyn, who retired from all forms in 2021. In 93 Test matches, the 41-year-old claimed 439 wickets, including 26 five-wicket hauls.

The former bowler claimed 64 wickets in 47 T20I games and 196 wickets in 125 ODI matches.

Dale Steyn was asked to choose his current top five ODI bowlers in a video that ESPN Cricinfo shared on X (previously Twitter). Steyn did not select between Matt Henry and Marco Jansen for the final berth, instead selecting Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada, and Shaheen Shah Afridi as his top four.

"Shami, Bumrah, Rabada, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and then I can't quite split Matt Henry and Marco Jansen. Those two guys, I feel like they just fly under the radar because they just do what is required to be done. And they can pick up wickets at any time," Steyn said.

Kagiso Rabada's adaptability was commended by Steyn, who added that he can bowl well at any stage of the game. He also praised Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Although there are many outstanding pacers, Steyn said that these bowlers currently impressed him the most.

"And then you've got Rabada. The man doesn't mind if he bowls with a new ball or if he bowls first change or if he bowls in the death. He has got control of the game and He knows where the ball's going to go, and he knows who he's playing against.

And then obviously the two at the top, Shami and Bumrah. I mean, Shami's had a phenomenal last few years, and Bumrah is who he is. They're just, these guys are incredible. And the list can go on, but these are just five that right now are pretty impressive to me," Steyn concluded.
