David Warner, who is the captain of the Karachi Kings franchise in the ongoing PSL 2025, has signed with a new team despite his commitments to the Pakistan league.
Warner has signed with the Seattle Orcas in the Major League Cricket in the United States of America (USA).
Warner to enter USA Cricket
This will be Warner’s first appearance in the MLC, a league that has been steadily growing in popularity since its launch in 2023.
The former Australian contributes a wealth of expertise to the Orcas' team and is among the most explosive batters in T20 history.
At a respectable strike rate of 140.27, he has amassed 12,956 runs in 401 T20 matches played worldwide.
Seattle Orcas boosted with the signing of David Warner
David Warner, a seasoned Australian opener, is ready to start a new phase of his cricket career. For the third Major League Cricket (MLC) tournament, which will take place in the USA from June 12 to July 13, the 37-year-old has committed to the Seattle Orcas.
Warner will make his debut in the MLC, a competition that has been gaining traction since its inception in 2023.
Warner, who is well-known for his aggressive starts and daring strokeplay, should provide the Orcas with a significant lift at the top of the order.

Unexpectedly, Warner did not sell in the IPL 2025 auction, despite being one of the most successful players in the league and ranked fourth on the all-time run-getters list with 6,565 runs.
David Warner continues to perform in the Pakistan Super League
However, the southpaw's form was unaffected by that setback. With 405 runs in 12 innings, he helped lead the Sydney Thunder to the Big Bash League final earlier this year. He is presently captaining Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League. He also played for the Dubai Capitals, who won the ILT20 in February.
The Seattle Orcas are hopeful that Warner's inclusion will help them. They had a terrible season last year, ending at the bottom with just one win from seven games, after winning the first MLC season in 2023. Warner's extensive knowledge will help them aim for a powerful resurgence.
Warner will be able to play in both leagues because MLC 2025 won't conflict with The Hundred this time. Later this year, he is scheduled to play for London Spirit in the 100-ball competition in England.
