The Durbar Rajshahi franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2025) has found itself in another negative news after reports stated that their bus driver has locked up the kitbags of the players inside the bus until the franchise clears his due.
Cricket in Bangladesh reached a new low when players from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Durbar Rajshahi were not paid after the team's campaign. It sparked a big uproar, and the franchise owners have come under intense scrutiny.
It began after Durbar Rajshahi's overseas players, Mohammad Haris (Pakistan), Aftab Alam (Afghanistan), Mark Deyal (West Indies), Ryan Burl (Zimbabwe), and Miguel Cummins (West Indies), took a big step after not receiving their requested salary from the owners.

Durbar Rajshahi players opted to boycott a match in protest of not receiving their salaries. The aforementioned players have yet to get a penny, while Cricbuzz adds that a few players have received only 25% of their pay. If it wasn't enough, another batch of reports surprised many.
After the team's campaign finished, it was discovered that abroad players were left stranded in their hotel rooms, awaiting payment and airplane tickets home. Following this, team owner Shafiq Rahma announced that they had reserved tickets for the players.
However, the most recent development has sparked a new round of discussion. It has been revealed that not only players but also bus drivers, have not received their wages. In response, they have taken drastic measures and decided to cause havoc among players.

Matter of shame and regret: Rajshahi bus driver on locking up players’ kitbags in the bus
The bus drivers have locked Durbar Rajshahi players' baggage and kit bags on the bus. They want all of their dues paid first, and then they will return the players' equipment. Durbar Rajshahi's team bus driver, Mohammad Babul, was likewise dissatisfied with the situation.
Mohammad Babul expressed remorse and embarrassment that the bus drivers had not received their dues. He issued an ultimatum to the team's owners, stating that until they empty out payment, they will not return the kit bags.
Horrendous scenes in BPL
"It's a matter of regret and shame. If they had paid us, we would have given back the kit bag to the players. Till now, I have not opened my mouth but now I am saying that we can leave if they clear our payment. The kit bags of local and foreign cricketers are there in the bus, but I cannot give them as a large portion of our remuneration is yet not paid,” Babul told reporters in front of the team hotel.
It remains to be seen if the bus drivers will release the kit bags or not. So far, there hasn't been any official confirmation.
