Chennai Super Kings (CSK) former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has taken a dig at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for being data-driven and not managing a single trophy in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
He praised MS Dhoni, who helped the CSK win five titles in history, for his incredible tactics of deciding the bowlers in the field without depending on the data and records. The former World Cup-winning leader of the yellow franchise loves to follow his instincts in the process.
Harbhajan Singh takes a dig at RCB to praise MS Dhoni’s captaincy
Harbhajan Singh revealed that Dhoni used to keep walking after wearing his wicket-keeping drills without consulting the decision-makers of the franchise. The former spinner highlighted that MS used to select the bowling ends of the individuals without reading any data.

“Have you heard the name Mahendra Singh Dhoni? He doesn’t care what the computer is saying. Dhoni wears his gloves, puts his pads on, and keeps walking. And suddenly, he selects the end of the bowler's. He also knows his next bowler and has the idea of when to use which card.” The former CSK spinner addressed this during a recent interaction on ESPNcricinfo.
The Punjab-spinner also labeled the Ranchi-born as one of the best leaders of the side. In that chat, he trolled me by saying that many teams haven’t done well for being fully data-driven.
“Dhoni is probably the best captain who led the team. Only one guy has carried such a huge franchise, and because he was so successful, he didn’t need a computer. He has made the computer fail. So, first, check the results of those who are data-driven and vice-versa.” The CSK’s former spinner concluded.

Fierce rivalry between CSK and RCB
In 33 games between the two franchises, Chennai Super Kings has won 21 games and lost 11 clashes with the highest score of 226 in an innings. The Bengaluru-based franchise has earned only 11 games in 33 encounters and 21 defeats with the highest score of 218 in an inning.
In the last five affairs between the two sides, CSK has a lead of 3-2 in the head-to-head. But in the previous editions, Bengaluru eliminated the Chennai side with a six-wicket victory.
The former middle-order batter of the Super Kings, Ambati Rayudu, has also trolled the Bengaluru side for their empty cabinet in the league.
“If you talk about RCB today, it shows that only passion and aggressive celebrations don't win you trophies. You need to plan. You didn't get the IPL trophy just by reaching the playoffs. You have to play with the same hunger.” Rayudu claimed.
