Gautam Gambhir Breaks Silence On Shreyas Iyer’s Exclusion From India Test Squad For England

Shreyas Iyer was a notable name missing from the India Test squad for the England tour, and now the Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has broken his silence on the batter’s exclusion from the 16-member contingent.

The Indian Test team's selection for the England tour generated a lot of excitement. The dismissal of Shreyas Iyer stood out among the noteworthy omissions.

Shreyas Iyer has no place in the Indian Test team, according to Ajit Agarkar. Shreyas Iyer has had a remarkable run in recent months, both at the domestic and international levels. Iyer scored two hundreds for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy while playing five first-class matches.

Iyer became the second most expensive player in IPL history after being acquired by Punjab Kings for an incredible INR 23.75 crore.

Iyer led his squad admirably and played aggressively the entire tournament. The captain of PBKS has amassed 514 runs in 14 games thus far.

Out of all the captains of every squad, Iyer had the highest average score of 51.40 runs. He scored runs with a strike rate of 171.91, which was very impressive.

In response to a journalist's question concerning Iyer's exclusion from the red-ball format, Gambhir sarcastically stated that he is not the selectors.

Gambhir is implying that everything isn't right

Additionally, Gambhir did not attend the press conference for the team's announcement. Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector, attended the press conference and addressed all inquiries regarding the selection of the team.

Fans blamed Gambhir for each removal from the team, despite Gambhir's earlier claims that he did not influence the selection process.
