Gujarat Titans are another side of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 that depends heavily on the top order’s contribution. Once the top three, including Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and Sai Sudharsan, failed to deliver with the bat, that created enormous pressure on the middle order, who looked puzzled.
The IPL 2022 champion side is another rare franchise that depends a lot on its Indian core for the pace bowling department. Rashid Khan’s drop in form hasn’t been happy news for the franchise. The oppositions have not only tackled the premier spinner but smashed him for runs around the park.
Gujarat Titans won’t be the same dominating side once Jos Buttler, the wicket-keeper batter, and Kagiso Rabada, the premier Protea pacer, leave the group for national duties.

Gujarat Titans' positives for the IPL 2025
The biggest positive for the Gujarat Titans during the 2025 season of the Indian Premier is the top order contribution. Their two openers have always provided the side-dominating platform to set the game.
The southpaw opening batter, Sai Sudharsan, finished the group stage of the season as the leading run-getter. He smashed 679 runs in 14 innings at an average of 52.23 and a strike rate of 155.37, thanks to five half-centuries and one century at the best score of unbeaten 108 runs.
Gill is just behind Sudarsan with 649 runs in 14 innings at an average of 54.08 and a strike rate of 156.38, with the help of six half-centuries. Even Buttler, at number three, has contributed immensely to finish the campaign with 538 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 163.03, with five fifties.
Prasidh Krishna has been fantastic with the ball, using his hard-length deliveries. The lanky Karnataka is the second leading wicket-taker of the campaign with 23 scalps in 14 innings at an average of under 19 and an economy rate of 7.90.
R Sai Kishore has also finished with 17 wickets in 14 innings at an economy rate of 9.11.
Gujarat Titans’ negatives in the IPL 2025
Rashid Khan’s form is the biggest disadvantage for the IPL 2025. The leg spinner, since the start of the event, has not found his rhythm in the bowling. A few of his deliveries are falling short, or a few are getting into the area of the batters.
Rashid finishes the group-stage fixtures with nine wickets in 14 innings at an average of 53.66 and an economy rate of 9.47, thanks to the best bowling figure of 2/25 in an inning.

Mohammed Siraj started well with the new ball during the first half of the tournament, but eventually, he lost his shine inside the powerplay. There will be a few questions on Rahul Tewatia and the other middle-lower order batters on the side, who didn’t contribute much.
Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2025 Squad Rating
Looking at their performance, the Gujarat Titans’ squad gets a 9/10 rating. They will need to find better options in the middle order of the batting department. If they can lock that part of the squad, then it will be incredibly hard to beat the franchise.
