Haris Rauf

Haris Rauf might miss the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for Pakistan, a report has stated. This came after Haris Rauf exited the pitch midway through the tri-series opener against New Zealand at the newly refurbished Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Haris Rauf is a major member of Pakistan's bowling attack, and he may also be their fastest bowler. When he departed the field, the match was poised for an intriguing finish. His absence harmed Pakistan, as New Zealand scored 98 runs in the final six overs of their innings, thanks to Glenn Phillips.

The setback comes as Pakistan prepares to defend their Champions Trophy title at home. However, the Men in Green have been dealing with serious injuries leading up to the key tournament.

Saim Ayub, the tournament's outstanding opener, was ruled out a few days ago after injuring his right ankle during the Test series in South Africa. Ayub traveled to London for more therapy in the hopes of being ready for the Champions Trophy.

However, it is felt that he requires further time to get healthy, and the board is unwilling to jeopardize his career. He is currently in London finishing his therapy and will need some weeks to get back on track.

Haris Rauf returned to bowl a new spell in New Zealand's 37th over. The first two balls were delivered with a good pace. Following the second delivery, he gripped his knees and walked slowly back to his mark.

The fast bowler did not wait for the physio to attend to him and walked off the field before finishing the over. Salman Ali Agha, an off-spinning allrounder, finished the remaining overs.

Long injury layoff could be on the way for Haris Rauf

According to accounts, Haris Rauf left the field owing to acute chest trouble. He did not return to fulfill his quota, which created questions about his availability for the remainder of the tri-series and the impending Champions Trophy.

Haris Rauf had a strong day with the ball, bowling with pace and generating decent bounce on a sluggish surface in Lahore. He even took the wicket of Tom Latham, who chipped a ball to Kamran Ghulam at short midwicket. Rauf concluded the day with 1-23 from 6.2 overs.
