The Champions Trophy 2025 match between India and Bangladesh was televised without Pakistan's logo, which the International Cricket Council (ICC) has justified. According to the ICC, there was a "technical issue" that kept the word "Pakistan" from showing up in the emblem.

'Pakistan' was not included in the tournament's official emblem when the Champions Trophy match between India and Bangladesh was shown in Dubai. It also sparked a lot of social media discussion.

Controversies don't seem to end around CT 2025

The Champions Trophy has been preceded by several problems, starting with India's unwillingness to visit Pakistan. The ICC therefore decided to use a hybrid format for the event to guarantee that India would participate even though it would not be visiting its neighbor.

The BCCI claims that security concerns prevented the Indian government from allowing them to deploy the team to Pakistan. All of the other teams in the event agreed to play in Pakistan, but India would not go there.

Even if Team India makes it to the knockout stages, they will now play all of their games in Dubai. Following rumors that Pakistan's name was missing from India's Champions Trophy squad jersey, there was yet another dispute.

ICC defends the absence of Pakistan's name in the Champions Trophy logo from India-Bangladesh broadcast

During Thursday's encounter between past champions India and Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, the International Cricket Council (ICC) explained the Champions Trophy 2025 emblem.

The broadcast of the recently concluded Group A fixture between India and Dubai did not show the host country Pakistan’s name in the official emblem of the tournament, leading to numerous concerns.

“The omission was due to a graphics-related technical issue, which will be rectified from tomorrow. It was not possible to change the logo during the match” the official was quoted as saying by Geo TV.

Since the technical problem was limited to the broadcast, the ICC official also confirmed that Pakistan's name appeared in the social media footage. All of the remaining Champions Trophy 2025 games will include Pakistan's name in their logo.

On February 23, India and Pakistan will square off in a high-stakes match in Dubai. Considering the history and political ties between the two nations, it is undoubtedly the most anticipated match of the competition.

For Pakistan, it will be a game of life or death as they try to maintain their chances of making it to the semi-finals. The Men in Green are currently lacking confidence after losing to New Zealand in their first game in Karachi.
