While most of the teams have visited various grounds to get neutralized with the conditions, India has enjoyed the same venue for the entire Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. Despite Pakistan being the hosts, they needed to fly to the venue for their mouth-watering encounter.

The blue brigade also played all of their games of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York for the entire group before earning the title against South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

India’s unbeaten run in Champions Trophy 2025

India had an excellent preparation in the three-match ODI series against England at home as their batters and bowlers spent time in the middle to get the lost rhythm of the 50-over format.

They continued the same form during the opening game of the eight-team competition against Bangladesh. At one point, they could have packed the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side for under 100 runs in the first innings, but a few dropped catches in the middle overs pushed the Tigers to over 200-run mark.

But that score was never going to challenge the fierce batting line-up, as Shubman Gill’s unbeaten century carried them over the fashion line. When Mohammad Shami got injured in the first few overs against Pakistan, Hardik Pandya shouldered the responsibility and gifted early wickets. Kuldeep Yadav picked up three wickets, as the spinners never allowed the Green Brigade to take the game away from them.

The chase of 242 runs could have been a bit stiff, but the half-century stands for the second wicket and the third-wicket century partnership between Virat Kohli, who celebrated his 51st ODI hundred, and Shreyas Iyer, who notched up an aggressive half-century. Rohit Sharma's army sealed the deal with six wickets in hand and nearly 40 balls to spare.

Pat Cummins reacts to ICC’s decision to schedule all Indian games in Dubai

The Australian captain, Pat Cummins, has missed the event with an injury, along with the two premier pacers, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. But during a recent interaction with Yahoo Sports Australia, he reckoned that the International Cricket Council (ICC) had given the blue brigade an unfair advantage.

“I think it's good that the tournament can go on, but it does give them (India) a huge advantage playing on the same ground. They already look very strong, and they've got that obvious benefit of playing all their games there. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 expressed.

Despite his absence, the Steve Smith-led side enjoyed a fine victory against arch-rivals England in their opening game of the Champions Trophy at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Thanks to the century knock from Josh Inglis, they have recorded the most successful chase of the competition.

India denies travel to Pakistan for political reasons

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wrote to the PCB and the ICC on their decision not to travel to Pakistan for political reasons. But the PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, wasn’t prepared to accept the hybrid model like the Asia Cup 2024.

The matter continued for a long time, as the investors and the fans started to raise questions on the fate of the tournament. But the world governing body finally came to a conclusion of playing the games for the Blue brigade at a neutral venue, which will carry forward between the two sides in the future ICC events till 2027.
