IPL 2025: CSK vs RCB Head-To-Head Records- Match 8
Published - 28 Mar 2025, 07:42 PM | Updated - 28 Mar 2025, 07:45 PM

The previous CSK vs RCB encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium between the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru saw the former chasing 176 runs with four wickets in hand and eight balls to spare. The home side hopes to repeat the same performance in the 2025 season of the tournament.
After a poor second half of the powerplay from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, it was vital for the spinners to pick up wickets and stop the run flow. But both Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane held the momentum and kept on playing the big shots.
Rahane nailed Suyash Sharma for a boundary before Sunil Narine drilled Rasikh Salam for the same result. A six from the Mumbai-born saw him celebrating his half-century in style, while Narine nailed the leg-spinner for a six and boundary on consecutive deliveries. After a few more big shots, Narine returned to the pavilion on 44 runs in 26 balls.

Soon, Krunal Pandya sent back Rahane back in the dressing room. Angkrish Raghuvanshi timed three fine boundaries in the 12th over, but Krunal showed his wicket-taking ability to dismiss Venkatesh Iyer for six runs, while Rinku Singh was bowled for just 12 runs. RCB leaked 85/4 in the nine overs at the middle stage and they hope to continue the same show in the CSK vs RCB encounter.
For Chennai, they have picked three quality spinners to use wisely in the middle overs. Tilka Verma nailed Ravindra Jadeja for a couple of sixes in two overs, and Noor Ahmed, after a few silent overs, picked up the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. The left-arm wrist spinner also sent back Tilak and Robin Minz in three balls to turn the game in their favor.
After 15 overs, Mumbai was 110/6, which meant they managed just 58 runs in an over-period for the loss of three wickets, thanks to Noor Ahmad’s fine spell of 3/16 in the first three overs. He will have to shoulder the responsibility in the CSK vs RCB clash.
