Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are well ahead of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with the CSK vs RCB head-to-head record of 11-21 in IPL. Their first meeting of the 2025 edition of the tournament will take place on March 28, 2025, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Chennai was excellent in the powerplay batting during their opening encounter against the Mumbai Indians. With none of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah, it was a bit easier for the Yellow army to attack the inexperienced bowling line-up of the 2020 champions.
CSK lost Rahul Tripathi for a low score, but captain Ruturaj Gaikwad displayed the sweetest timing of the cricket ball with some incredible shots around the park. He clipped Deepak Chahar for a boundary over a short fine before pulling over the pacer over mid-wicket for six runs.

When Suryakumar Yadav introduced spin into the attack, Gaikwad used his feet to crack Mitchell Santer for two fours and one six in the final powerplay over to collect 62/1 in the first six overs. They hope to get the same advantage from the leader in the CSK vs RCB encounter.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru had an excellent powerplay with the bat in the last fixture against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Phil Salt started with a boundary in the 175-run chase before punishing Vaibhav Arora for three boundaries and one six in the innings.
Kolkata’s introduction of Varun Chakravarthy couldn’t also make an impact in the contest. Salt used his power to smack the Indian mystery spinner for two fours and one six in the second innings, besides getting help from Virat Kohli at the other end. A quiet sixth over from Harshit Rana ended them at 80/0 in the powerplay.
At the MA Chidambaram Stadium, it won’t be easy to play the lifted shots, but a fine opening stand can fire them to a big score in the CSK vs RCB clash.
