IPL 2025: DC vs LSG Match Preview, Match 4

The Delhi Capitals (DC) will play the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the fourth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The clash will take place on March 24, 2025, at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Last year, both sides experienced a similar journey in the competition. Delhi began with two successive defeats in the group stage of the tournament before opening their account against the Chennai Super Kings. But they again went off the track with two consecutive losses.

It was a topsy-turvy IPL 2024 for the Capitals, who couldn’t win three back-to-back games at any juncture of the event, and that put enough pressure on the management to make some vital changes in the squad. The only brightest prospect of the event was that their captain, Rishabh Pant, after missing so much cricket due to his accident, returned to the cricket field.

For the Lucknow Super Giants, they had a successful start with three wins in the first four group-stage games. But they suffered badly in the middle half of the event, with three defeats in the five clashes. The most important aspect for them was to gain some important wins under their belt at the business end of the competition.

But they could earn just a single victory in the last four group-stage clashes. That ended their stay at number seven with seven wins and as many defeats at a net run rate of -0.667.

There will be a huge change in the DC vs LSG clash of the IPL 2025. Rishabh Pant, who was leading the Delhi Capitals till now, will be captaining the Super Giants, while KL Rahul will turn up for the Capitals, having led Lucknow in the last three editions.

Both sides have new inclusions in the squad after the mega auction and they will be eagerly excited for the DC vs LSG game. India’s left-arm spin all-rounder, Axar Patel, will lead Delhi for the 2025 season. Mitchell Starc will share the new ball for the 2020 runners-up, which will be a huge boost for the franchise.

Faf du Plessis, who will be the vice-captain in the DC vs LSG clash for the IPL 2025, will open the innings with the aggressive Australian young batter Jake Fraser-McGurk. Tristan Stubbs will bat at number three for the side, who will have Kuldeep Yadav as another quality spinner in their side.

For Lucknow, the injury list is getting bigger before the DC vs LSG encounter. Shardul Thakur is expected to replace the injured Mohsin Khan in the new season. But the biggest strength for the franchise is the three left-handers in the middle order of the side. Pant, Nicholas Pooran, and David Miller will destroy the opponent’s spin bowling.
