The Delhi Capitals (DC) will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the tenth encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The DC vs SRH clash will take place on March 30, 2025, at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Delhi Capitals didn’t go through a smooth journey in the batting department during their opening clash of the IPL 2025 at the same venue against the Lucknow Super Giants. Their top-order batting failed badly to be 7/3 in the second over of the 210-run chase. Jake Fraser-McGurk and Sameer Rizvi failed, while Abhishek Porel couldn’t open his account.

Axar Patel provided them the required momentum in the clash before Tristan Stubbs kept them in the chase with 34 runs in 22 balls. Viraj Nigam clubbed 39 runs in just 15 balls, but a significant share of the credit went to Ashutosh Sharma, who nailed 66 unbeaten runs in 31 balls to help them chase 210 runs with one wicket in hand. They hope for the same performance in the DC vs SRH fixture.

For the Sunrisers, when most of the fans anticipated 300 from the side against a depleted Lucknow Super Giants’ bowling line-up, they could make only 190 in the first innings. The visiting side chased it down with five wickets in hand and 23 balls to spare, thanks to Nicholas Pooran’s 70-run knock in just 26 balls.

Mitchell Marsh also contributed with 52 runs in 31 balls, smashing seven boundaries and a couple of sixes, while Abdul Samad gave them the late-order fire with an undefeated 22 runs in just eight deliveries. Lucknow went with a proper plan against the Hyderabad batters, who were only looking for the big shots.

It was Aniket Verma and Pat Cummins's late finishes that carried the 2016 champions to 190. Otherwise, they could have finished on 150 after Travis Head got out on 47 runs in 29 balls at a strike rate of 167.86. Hyderabad looks to repeat the same performance in the DC vs SRH clash.

Delhi, shouldering Ashutosh, chased down the score. But their bowlers were up to the challenge in the last five overs of the innings. With 170/4 on the board in 15 overs, the Rishabh Pant-led side could have easily reached 230. But Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel’s couple of overs, along with Mohit Sharma, didn’t provide them the required firepower at the end.

For the Hyderabad side, they kept on losing wickets regularly and didn’t get the necessary fire in the batting. Heinrich Klassen got a start for 26 runs in 17 balls, while Nitish Reddy managed 32 runs in 28 balls. But none of them were enough to pull them over 200. And their poor bowling performance didn’t help them in the defense, either. They need to develop in the DC vs SRH encounter.
