The Gujarat Titans (GT) have been going through a fabulous journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. They lost their opening clash of the competition against the Punjab Kings, despite being ahead in the competition.

The Shubman Gill-led side has earned three successive victories in the tournament, getting the better of Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have produced some excellent all-round performances with both the bat and ball in hand.

Now, Gujarat Titans will face the Lucknow Super Giants on April 12, 2025, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

IPL 2025: GT Playing XI vs LSG- Match 26

Openers- Shubman Gill (c) and Sai Sudharsan

The two openers for the 2022-champions have found so much success with the bat in the opening partnership. Their top three batters are among the best 15 run-scorers of the season.

Sudharsan played the opening game with an aggressive mindset after the end of the power play. But he chewed up so many deliveries at the start of the innings, which put enough pressure on the lower order in the run chase. The left-handed Tamil Nadu batter smashed 191 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 150.39.

Their captain, Shubman Gill, has continued his purple patch from the international circuit to collect 146 runs in four innings at an average of 48.66 and a strike rate of 148.97, thanks to the best score of an unbeaten 61 runs.

Middle order- Jos Buttler (wk), Washington Sundar, Sherfane Rutherford, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia

Jos Buttler will be top-notch at number three against the struggling Lucknow bowling line-up. The GT wicket-keeper batter has smashed 166 runs in four innings at an average of 55.33 and a strike rate of 167.67, thanks to two fifties.

Washington Sundar managed a fine 49-run knock at number four against Hyderabad. Sherfane Rutherford, coming in the lower order, drilled aggressive runs towards the end of the innings. The question is on the contribution of Rahul Tewatia, who hasn’t either bowled or batted much in the competition.

Bowlers- Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Gerald Coetzee (Impact Sub)

Mohammed Siraj is the biggest X-factor for the Titans in the season with the ball in hand. He has picked up nine wickets in four innings at an average of 13.77 and an economy rate of 7.75. By far, the GT pacer is the best among all the Indian fast bowlers.

Rashid Khan’s drop in form has been a concern for the side. Since his shoulder injury, he hasn’t been the same anymore. In most of the game, the batters have read him from the hand and whacked him around the park.

But this is the time when R Sai Kishore has stood up with an incredible performance. In four innings, he has collected eight scalps at an average of 14.12 and a strike rate of 12 besides an economy rate of 7.06.

Prasidh Krishna has used the hard lengths beautifully to make it tough for the batters with his pace and bounce. The Gujarat Titans management may also look to replace a struggling veteran, Ishant Sharma, with South African Gerald Coetzee.
