The Gujarat Titans (GT) are coming into the contest after their three successive victories in IPL 2025. They dropped their opening encounter of the season against the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, but since then have earned victories in all fixtures.

Gujarat put up an incredible show against the Mumbai Indians to defend the first innings total before crashing the undefeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Even against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, they comfortably chased down the score with seven wickets in hand.

Openers- Shubman Gill (c) and Sai Sudharsan

For any side to do well in a franchise tournament, one of the most important aspects is to put up a commendable opening partnership. Both Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, on most occasions, have done the job for the Titans.

Sudharsan is the third leading run-getter of the IPL 2025, going into the clash against the Rajasthan Royals, with 191 runs in four innings at an average of 47.75 and a strike rate of 150.39, having on two half-centuries at the best score of 74 runs.

Their captain, Gill, also contributed when the team struggled on the power play. The right-handed batter has nailed 146 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 148.97, with his first fifty of the season coming in the previous game against the Sunrisers.

Middle order- Jos Buttler (wk), Washington Sundar, Sherfane Rutherford, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia

Jos Buttler is the main aggressor for Gujarat Titans at number three. Once the powerplay ended, the former England white-ball captain took charge against the spinners. He is currently the fifth leading run-getter for GT in the event with 166 runs in four innings at an average of 55.33 and a strike rate of nearly 170, thanks to two half-centuries.

Washington Sundar, coming at number four, played a valuable knock of 49 in the last game when they were struggling with two early and quick wickets in the game. Sherfane Rutherford was also boosted with a lot of confidence after his undefeated knock.

Shahrukh Khan hasn’t got the bat in the last few games, with the top order putting on the show. But Rahul Tewatia is an interesting player on the side who neither bowls nor bats much for the side.

Bowlers- Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma/ Gerald Coetzee

Rashid Khan has struggled the most this season in his entire IPL career. This could be because of his shoulder surgery, but the premier Gujarat Titans spinner has yet to find the right line and length. Sai Kishore, in Rashid’s tough time, has done the job pretty well and has picked up eight wickets in four innings at an economy rate of 5.12.

Mohammed Siraj’s form has been the biggest boost for the management. He has earned two successive Player of the Match awards and will look to extend the momentum in the GT vs RR fixture. Prasidh Krishna has used the conditions well whenever required.

The management may also consider bringing in Gerald Coetzee to replace the underperforming Ishant Sharma for the next clash against Rajasthan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
