The Gujarat Titans (GT) are enjoying their stay at the second position of the points table, with six victories in eight group-stage encounters at a net run rate of +1.104. They just need a few more victories to cement their place in the top two of the points table.
Gujarat is flying high in the season thanks to their successful opening partnership between Shubman Gill, the captain, and Sai Sudharsan. Most of their batters and bowlers have slowly but steadily started to get their rhythm back in the tournament with runs and wickets.
Gujarat will lock horns with the Sunrisers Hyderabad after a long break of more than a week at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 02, 2025.

Openers- Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill
The cheat code for Gujarat to do well in this edition is their opening stand. They have paired themselves beautifully to put the platform for a huge score on the board.

Sudharsan is the leading run-getter of the franchise and the third leading run-scorer of the season with 417 runs in eight innings at an average of 52.12 and a strike rate of 152.18, having on five half-centuries at the best score of 82 runs. He has brought stability to the top order.
For Gill, it was a topsy-turvy start. But the right-handed batter has got back on track with 305 runs in eight innings at an average of 43.57 and a strike rate of 153.27 with three fifties at the best score of 90 runs.
Middle order- Jos Buttler (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia
The GT wicket-keeper batter, Jos Buttler, is the seventh-highest run-getter of the IPL 2025 with 356 runs in eight innings at an average of over 71 and a strike rate of 165.58, thanks to three half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 97 runs against the Delhi Capitals.
Sherfane Rutherford and Shahrukh Khan have always provided them the power in the back end of the inning to help the 2022 champions get to a strong score at the end.
The issue is around Rahul Tewatia, who hasn’t scored many runs with the ball and has hardly found his time with the ball this year. If they want, the management may look to have a toss-up between Washington Sundar and Tewatia, adding one of the batters to the side.
Buttler, in the last game, remained unbeaten on 41 runs in 23 balls at a strike rate of 178.26, with the help of eight boundaries.
Bowlers- Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj (Impact)
Rashid Khan looked to be back in his old rhythm in the last game as he was nailed for only 25 runs in four overs, besides picking up two wickets, while Prasidh Krishna returned with the same result, using the hard length deliveries on the Eden Gardens surface.
R Sai Kishore kept it with the line and length for his silent figures of 1/19 in three overs. Mohammed Siraj used the new ball well inside the powerplay (first six overs) for the end result of 1/32 in four overs for GT.
