For the next 12 balls, the 2023 champions could not get a single boundary, and that increased pressure on the batting side. Sam Curran, without any reason, played a cross-batted shot as Mumbai kept on picking wickets regularly.

In 15 overs, the Super Kings reached 119/5, as the Suryakumar Yadav-led side picked up three wickets in the middle stage of the game. They hope to continue the same show in the MI vs KKR fixture.

Moeen Ali replaced Sunil Narine’s job quite well in the middle overs during their last encounter against the Rajasthan Royals. Varun Chakravarthy, after being smacked for a six by Riyan Parag, sent back the batter for 25 runs in 15 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal couldn’t extend his knock to a good score as he found Harshit Rana in the ninth over.

Kolkata kept on taking wickets in every single over. Wanindu Hasaranga rushed into the pull shot against Varun to go on the back foot and found the extra-cover region. Moeen, with a good length ball in the middle, picked up the wicket of Nitish Rana, as Vaibhav Arora dismissed Shubham Dubey for nine runs.

Kolkata picked up five wickets in the middle innings, and they hope to continue the same show in the MI vs KKR contest at the Wankhede Stadium. The spinners, with Sunil Narine, expected to return to the side, may contribute so much with the ball in this phase.
