The Punjab Kings (PBKS) will be hosting their last game at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the afternoon.

Shreyas Iyer’s army will be superbly confident going into the last home fixture after depending on the lowest total of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Kolkata Knight Riders. They are currently at the fourth rank in the points table with a net run rate of +0.172.

PBKS, in a short turnaround against the same franchise, will look to extend the dominating performance.

IPL 2025: PBKS Playing XI vs RCB- Match 37

Opener- Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh

The right and left-handed openers have given PBKS the right balance at the top order. Both of them have started to fire for the side from the very first ball of the innings, as they did against the Knight Riders with 39 runs in 3.2 overs.

Priyansh Arya, the southpaw, celebrated his maiden IPL century against the Chennai Super Kings at the same venue in some aggressive fashion. He nailed 22 runs in 12 against KKR before chipping a leg-side delivery into the hands of the backward point fielder.

Meanwhile, Prabhsimran Singh blasted 30 runs in 15 balls. Despite them losing wickets from the other end, he continued to play his shots. But he found the point fielder as he looked to cut the short ball from Harshit Rana.

Middle order- Shreyas Iyer (c), Josh Inglis/ Marcus Stoinis, Nehal Wadhera, Glenn Maxwell, Shashank Singh

The PBKS captain, Shreyas Iyer, continued his poor form in Chandigarh. He will hope to sign in from the ground with a fine knock in the afternoon clash. Overall, he has nailed 250 runs in six innings at an average of 62.50 this season at a strike rate of 204.91, thanks to three fifties to his name.

Using Josh Inglis didn’t work for the Punjab side, and they may look to bring back Marcus Stoinis for the afternoon game, where he can bowl a couple of overs. Glenn Maxwell has bowled a bit so far, but his batting will always be under pressure after another poor start this season.

Nehal Wadhera has looked good in patches this year and can change the fortune of the side in the middle order. Shashank Sigh had so much on his plate against KKR to take the side to a respectable total, but he failed to repeat the same show from last year.

Bowlers- Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Vijaykumar Vyshak (Impact)

Marco Jansen and Xavier Bartlett shared the new ball in the previous game on the ground against the Knight Riders. The former was excellent with his line and length and ended with figures of 3/17 in 3.1 overs.

Arshdeep Singh can replace Bartlett in the job. The left-arm pacer, who returned with figures of 1/11 in three overs against Kolkata, can extract swing and help from the new ball. Xavier, on the flip of the coin, can use the bounce of the surface to trouble the batters.

The biggest relief for the PBKS management is Yuzvendra Chahal’s return to form. He will look to carry the same momentum on the slow surface and repeat his incredible performance of 4/28 in four overs against KKR at the same ground.
