The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) held their nerve to earn a vital victory in the previous game at home, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, against the Rajasthan Royals. Josh Hazlewood, with two wickets for one run in the penultimate over, changed the entire course of the game.

Bengaluru is still unbeaten with five wins in as many games for their away fixtures in this event. But with their maiden home victory in four attempts, they have ticked the much-needed box. The last game will also boost their confidence in keeping their heads high at any position in the game.

RCB will face the Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 27, 2025, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

IPL 2025: RCB Playing XI vs DC- Match 46

Openers- Virat Kohli and Phil Salt

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt have carried the RCB side to strong starts this season with the bat. Salt has mostly looked aggressive at the beginning of the inning, but he has lost his fluency a bit in this edition of the event.

The England wicket-keeper batter struggled in the game against the Royals, with 26 runs in 23 balls at a strike rate of 113.04, thanks to four boundaries. But Virat Kohli looked in a different touch, his a 70-run knock in 42 balls at a strike rate of 166.67.

The right-handed batter is the second leading run-getter this season with 392 runs in nine innings at an average of 65.33 and a strike rate of 144.11, thanks to five half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 73 runs.

Middle order- Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Tim David, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Krunal Pandya

Devdutt Padikkal, in the last contest, also looked to go aggressive against the pacers and the spinners at the small ground in the middle overs, and that helped RCB to get so much advantage against the spinners. Virat could also play his natural game from the other end.

Padikkal overall now has accumulated 230 runs in eight innings at an average of 32.85 and a strike rate of 156.46, shouldering on two half-centuries at the best score of 61. Rajat Patidar, the leader, has had a few poor outings back-to-back, while Jitesh Sharma has provided them with balance in the lower order.

In the last game, his judgment of where the bowlers should keep on bowling and the field settings, along with the review decisions, Jitesh did everything right to claim the victory for the 2016 runners-up in the competition.

Krunal Pandya’s spin bowling has brought refreshments to the RCB camp. The left-arm spinner has collected 12 wickets so far in eight innings at an economy rate of around nine. His role in the middle overs is so vital for the franchise to squeeze up the runs and get wickets upfront.

Bowlers: Romario Shepherd, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal, Suyash Sharma (Impact)

Romario Shepherd has helped the RCB to tinker with Tim David's batting contribution in the lower middle order. Suyash Sharma also didn’t leak many runs in the second innings, with 0/31 in four overs.

Yash Dayal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, meanwhile, were treated badly by the Rajasthan batters with combined figures of 2/84 in seven overs at an economy rate of nearly 12. But it was a canny plan from Josh Hazlewood, who marked their comeback in the season.
