It will be a quick turnaround for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 after their home game two days ago against the same franchise.

Bengaluru, unlike most of the previous seasons, has started on a powerful note with four victories in six group-stage encounters at a net run rate of +0.672. They have won all of their away fixtures but lost both of the home clashes.

RCB will hope to continue the same dominance away from home with another victory when they face the Shreyas Iyer-led side again on the afternoon of April 20, 2025, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

IPL 2025: RCB Playing XI vs PBKS- Match 37

Openers- Phil Salt and Virat Kohli

Phil Salt is the main aggressor for Bengaluru at the opening position with Virat Kohli, the former RCB captain. The England wicket-keeper batter has enjoyed his stint with the franchise, thanks to mulling 208 runs in six innings at a strike rate of around 150.

In the game against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur, Salt decided to take the aerial route from the start before seeing off a few deliveries. He wanted to extend his stay in the middle. Kohli, on the other hand, has taken advantage.

He has played his natural game against the pacers and the spinners before bashing them around the park after getting set. In the first six games, he has accumulated 248 runs at a strike rate of 143.85.

Middle order- Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David

The RCB management was a little concerned with Devdutt Padikkal. He offered a very positive vibe during their last game against the Rajasthan side with a knock of 40 runs in 28 balls at a strike rate of 142.86, shouldering on five boundaries and a six.

The franchise captain, Rajat Patidar, didn’t get a chance to bat on many occasions. But he has captained the side in a great manner with a fabulous field setting. It was a great decision from the management and the leader to use Yash Dayal with the new ball, besides bringing Josh Hazlewood in the middle overs.

Liam Livingstone is a little concerned for the RCB side in the middle overs. If they want in the future, they can replace the veteran with the young left-handed spin all-rounder Jacob Bethell. Tim David has provided them the power and fire in the last five overs to gather the vital runs.

Bowlers- Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Yash Thakur, Suyash Sharma (Impact Sub)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has picked up wickets with the new ball for RCB. He hasn’t leaked many runs inside the first six overs. Josh Hazlewood had bowled beautifully in the middle overs to take the run rate down for the opposition.

Suyash Sharma has been hot and cold this season in the spin department, while Krunal Pandya has performed above his weight this season. In six innings, the left-arm spinner has picked up eight wickets at an economy rate of 9.57.

Yash Dayal has bowled both in the powerplay and the death overs. He can use the old ball for reverse swing after 15 or 16 overs, along with Bhuvi.
