The previous and only RR vs KKR fixture at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati during the Indian Premier League (IPL) was a wash-out encounter and both these sides will be up against each other in the 2025 edition at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

In the opening game for the Royals, they kept on nailing the boundaries, because they had to keep the required run-rate in check. That was not only because they were aiming to chase the score down but because of also keeping an eye on the losing margin at the very start of the league.

Samson nailed Adam Zampa’s very first over for 14 runs as Pat Cummins, the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, introduced Abhishek Sharma into the attack. Rajasthan did well with a few big shots in the middle overs as Dhruv Jurel clubbed Simarjeet Singh for 26 runs in the 13th over to out the century stand between them.

The inaugural champions of the tournament added 92 runs for the nine overs in the middle stage for the loss of two wickets. They were never going to chase the 288 runs in the second innings, but they didn’t let them down with a far better performance, which they can use during the RR vs KKR encounter.

Kolkata, in their opening clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens, couldn’t do well in the middle overs and stayed well away from the result of the clash. Sunil Narine smashed Suyash Sharma for back-to-back boundaries but once they lost the southpaw at the half-way mark, the entire equation changed.

Three balls later, Rahane also went back to the pavilion. It was the fourth time Krunal Pandya dismissed the former Indian captain. Angkrish Raghuvanshi smashed Suyash for three fours, but KKR kept on losing wickets regularly in the middle overs.

Rinku Singh struggled for his 12 runs in 10 balls, while Andre Russell, after his boundary, looked to nail Suyash out of the ground. But the leg spinner was brave enough to spin the delivery to get rid of the Jamaican all-rounder, The three-time champions added 85 runs between the seventh to 15th over for the lose of four wickets.
