The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who started their IPL 2025 campaign with a fine victory before facing a huge defeat in the second encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants, aims to get back on the winning track during the upcoming afternoon encounter against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Hyderabad displayed their fierce batting during the opening clash against the Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, but couldn’t continue the same show on an evening, when most of the fans anticipated them to cross the 300-run mark.
IPL 2025: SRH Playing XI vs DC- Match 10
Openers: Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head
Despite the carnage in the first game of the season for the SRH franchise, Abhishek Sharma could not handle the situation. Against LSG, he failed with just six individual runs, thanks to one boundary at a strike rate of 100.

One of the best parts of Lucknow’s bowling was how they kept Travis Head without a boundary for a long time. The field placement was excellent, as a few deliveries early in the innings went straight to where the fielders were stationed.
Head creamed 47 runs in just 28 deliveries, shouldering on five boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 167.86. Prince Yadav, with a thunderbolt yorker, dismissed the left-handed Australian batter.
Middle order- Ishan Kishan, Nitish Reddy, Heinrich Klassen (wk.), Aniket Verma, Abhinav Manohar
Expectations were huge on the pocket rocket wicket-keeper batter, Ishan Kishan, who smashed a fine century during the previous fixture against the Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad. But the entire story was different against the Super Giants.
On the very first delivery, Kishan looked to time the leg-sided ball for a boundary but got a thin edge into the hands of the wicket-keeper batter. Nitish Reddy, coming at number four, played a few big shots but didn’t get the strike much and ended with 32 runs in 28 balls.
Heinrich Klassen used his power for 26 runs in 17 balls, thanks to two fours and one six. The issue for SRH was that they kept on losing wickets regularly and never got the required fire in the middle phase of the game.
Aniket Verma was the rescue man for the franchise, who nailed 36 runs in just 13 balls, using his power as he smashed five huge sixes to get to the point. It was also a fine knock from captain Pat Cummins, who drilled three sixes and got out on the fourth ball to nail 18 runs in four balls.
Bowlers- Pat Cummins (c), Harshal Patel, Mohammed Shami, Simarjeet Singh
The bowling performance was not up to the mark for the Sunrisers on successive occasions. Mohammed Shami looked awful in the department as he went for 37 runs in just three overs, besides picking the wicket of Aiden Markram.
Simarjeet Singh also didn’t bowl well in the Lucknow clash for SRH. Their captain, Cummins, did well to pick up two wickets in three overs, along with going for 29 runs. Adam Zampa struggled for 46 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of 11.50.

Harshal Patel was supposed to be shouldering the responsibility of the death overs, but went for 28 runs in two overs. Lucknow chased down 191 runs in 16.1 overs with five wickets in hand. SRH may look to bring Eshan Malinga in on the side and use him in the death overs.
