Interestingly, the game was canceled because of a "technical failure," but the real reason was security worries brought on by potential attacks.
India retaliated with missile attacks on terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, two weeks after the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.
On Thursday night, a blackout was imposed on several areas, including the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, and Mohali. This action came after reports of explosion-like noises coming from Jammu and air raid sirens, which caused widespread concern.

IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Dharamsala called off
Due to air raid alarms in adjacent Jammu and Pathankot, Thursday's match between the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings at Dharamsala was canceled. The tournament's continuation was called into question by the alerts, which coincided with increased military tensions between India and Pakistan.
Rain had already delayed the start of the match, and a surprise floodlight failure in the eleventh over caused it to be stopped. The blackout was first ascribed to a technical glitch, but it quickly became apparent that significant security concerns played a role in the decision to stop play.
With the situation escalating, players and support staff were quickly escorted out, and the nearly 80% full crowd at the 23,000-capacity stadium was safely evacuated.
