IPL 2025 To Enter Wankhede Stadium On This Date; Gujarat Titans' Domestic Players To Start Preparation

The excitement of the game is far from its end. The 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin just a week after the Champions Trophy 2025 ends. But the schedule hasn’t been published yet.
The 18th edition of the IPL is set to begin on March 22, as a few reports have claimed. As per the normal terms, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will host the opening clash at the Eden Gardens, where the defending champions will take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Mumbai Indians to play first home IPL 2025 game on this date
The five-time champions, Mumbai Indians, will play their first two encounters of the 20-over league away from home before returning to the home ground, Wankhede Stadium, on March 31, as the Times of Indian has reported.

“MI will play their first two matches away before playing their first home game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 31.” The source confirmed as the reports of TOI addressed.
The Hardik Pandya-led side didn’t enjoy a great time in 2024 when they finished at the bottom of the table. The management decided to retain their premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, along with Suryakumar Yadav and former captain Rohit Sharma. Tilak Verma, the middle-order batter, also stays for the One Family.
The franchise signed the aggressive opening batter from England, Will Jacks, and South Africa’s wicket-keeper Ryan Rickelton for the next season. They also brought New Zealand’s left-arm seamer, Trent Boult, back into the squad, besides strengthening their spin department with the inclusion of Mitchell Santner and Karn Sharma.
Afghanistan’s Allah Ghazanfar was a superb pick for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 mega auction, but he won’t be available for the season due to injury.
Gujarat Titans to undergo camp for IPL 2025
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans (GT) will play their opening game of the IPL 2025 on March 21 at home, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Their domestic players will undergo a camp in Surat from February 16 (Sunday).
The Titans enjoyed a great two first seasons under the leadership of Hardik Pandya when they became the champions in 2022 and finished as the runners-up in IPL 2024, losing to the Chennai Super Kings. However, under Shubman Gill, they went through a tough time in the previous season of the competition.
The franchise got a huge boost for the new season, thanks to the inclusion of England’s white-ball captain, Jos Buttler. Sherfane Rutherford will take care of their middle order, which already has David Miller in the lower order as an explosive option.

Rashid Khan’s leg-spin will be huge for the Titans, as the experience of Kagiso Rabada and Mohammad Siraj will bring value to their pace bowling department. Prasidh Krishna will also be part of the side for the upcoming edition.
IPL 2025 to start with KKR vs RCB
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on the Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on March 23, which will be an afternoon clash for them on Sunday. Guwahati will come into the league for the Royals, as they may host KKR and CSK in the two evening games.
Dharamshala will host a couple of games for the Punjab Kings, as they have been going for the last few seasons. The first qualifier and eliminator will take place in Hyderabad, while the Eden Gardens will host the second qualifier and the final.
