India’s premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, failed to pass the fitness test and make it into the Champions Trophy 2025 squad for the Indian side. The pacer was part of the provisional squad of the blue brigade in the eight-team tournament, as many expected him to play the third ODI of the recent home series against England in Ahmedabad.

Bumrah went to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. After missing the ICC mega event, he hopes to gain full fitness and play in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians (MI).

The former captain of the Bangladesh side rates Jasprit Bumrah as a key player in the event, besides claiming that the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led would be relieved and happy that the 31-year-old isn’t taking part in the competition.

“Bumrah is a very different bowler and very dangerous! He is not coming here. We are very happy! He is very dangerous. Everybody respects him. I got out against him two times. He has improved a lot and bowls both ways.” Miraz addressed this in the interaction.

Bumrah’s inclusion in the side would have been a huge factor for the blue brigade, who will now depend on Mohammad Shami as head of their pace attack. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana will also be valuable in the side, along with the five spinners. Hardik Pandya’s pace bowling contribution as the all-rounder will always help them in getting the balance.

Jasprit Bumrah can comeback in the IPL 2025

Bumrah will eye the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to mark his comeback in the game after a long break. This will be huge news for the Mumbai Indians, who will look to make an inspiring comeback in this new edition of the event.

India will be traveling to England in June for the five-match Test series, and Jasprit Bumrah’s presence in the series will be so important for the blue brigade. That will also be their opening series of the fourth cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) in the 2023-25 season.
