Kagiso Rabada has given the Gujarat Titans (GT) a massive blow in the ongoing IPL 2025 tournament. Ahead of their game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025, the Proteas pacer has flown back home and will miss some part of the tournament.

Kagiso Rabada didn't have a terrific performance in the two games he played. At a strike rate of 24 and an average of 41.50, he took two wickets. The pacer's economy rate was 10.38, yet given his impact throughout the years, it is impossible to discount him.

Kagiso Rabada conceded 41 runs for a wicket in the match against the Punjab Kings. After that, he returned the numbers of 1/42 against the Mumbai Indians. Notably, the GT team paid INR 10.75 crore during the auction for the pacer from the South Africa National Cricket Team.

Kagiso Rabada returns home to deal with a personal matter

In an official announcement regarding Kagiso Rabada's availability, the Gujarat Titans stated that the fast bowler had returned home for personal reasons. Although the team has not confirmed when the bowler will return, it is quite likely that he will miss the upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The statement from the franchise read: “Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter.”

Rabada didn't play vs RCB

On Wednesday, March 2, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Kagiso Rabada did not play in the match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Shubman Gill announced during the toss that he would be absent from the game for personal reasons.

The Gujarat Titans are severely missing Kagiso Rabada from the starting lineup. The 2022 IPL winners may suffer if Arshad Khan, who was welcomed into the team by Shubman Gill, doesn't return after the upcoming games.

GT on a roll in IPL 2025

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Gujarat Titans are enjoying themselves immensely. They lost to Punjab Kings in their debut match, which put them in a bad start to the season. However, the team commanded by Shubman Gill hasn't turned back since.

In their second league match at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, the Gujarat Titans defeated the Mumbai Indians. The victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru came next. They would like to keep their current position in the top half of the table.
