Fast bowler Mayank Yadav has joined the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the IPL 2025 tournament after completing rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He returned to the team's camp on Tuesday evening.
LSG retained Yadav for ₹11 crore, despite his absence since October 2024 due to a back injury. His return was further delayed after he suffered a toe injury during rehabilitation. The pacer last played for India against Bangladesh in Hyderabad last year.
Mayank Yadav’s IPL Journey
Yadav’s IPL career has been marked by both injuries and impressive performances. Before his injury, he took seven wickets in four matches for LSG. He was named Player of the Match in his first two games, registering 3 for 14 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and 3 for 27 against Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Later, he made his India debut in the T20I series against Bangladesh, picking up four wickets in three matches. The 22-year-old, known for his speeds exceeding 150 kmph, is expected to be a key player in Rishabh Pant's squad as they push for a playoff spot this season.
