Michael Hesson, ex-New Zealand and RCB coach, has been named as the new Pakistan team white-ball head coach. This comes after Aaqib Javed's temporary head coach contract expired following the New Zealand tour.

Javed also chose not to extend his contract as head coach, and it was revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was eager to hire someone on a full-time basis.

PCB wanted a foreign coach

PCB made sure to use Aaqib Javed in some capacity, even though they chose not to extend his contract as head coach. The team's former head coach has been named the Director of High Performance.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been putting a lot of effort into finding the squad a head coach ever since.

According to sources, the board thought that a foreign name would be the greatest way to get the Pakistan National Cricket Team back on track, thus they wanted it on the list.

Michael Hesson chosen over Luke Ronchi and Simon Katich as Pakistan coach

It was discovered that PCB was negotiating with Michael Hesson, Australian Simon Katich, and Luke Ronchi, the current batting coach for New Zealand. The former New Zealand international was selected first among them and will lead the squad.

Given that Mike Hesson has been one of the top coaches in world cricket, this may be a move in the right direction for the Pakistan National Cricket Team. He served as the Director of Cricket for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and has coached teams all around the world.

Welcome to the team, Mike!- PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi

In the Pakistan Super League, Hesson coaches Islamabad United as well. The team only won the championship last year because of the former New Zealand star, who has been doing a fantastic job for the past several years.

The addition of Michael Hesson to the Pakistan National Cricket Team will greatly benefit the group. Despite making numerous roster changes, the Asian team has not yet achieved glory and has struggled greatly in the last few months across all formats.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of former New Zealand cricketer and renowned coach Mike Hesson as the white-ball head coach of the Pakistan men’s team."

"Mike brings with him a wealth of international experience and a proven track record of developing competitive sides. We look forward to his expertise and leadership in shaping the future of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket. Welcome to the team, Mike!” PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi stated.

Michael Hesson would like to get along with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) authorities. Because of their bad relations with the board, the previous foreign coaches were fired. Jason Gillespie and Garry Kirsten suffered the same fate prior to Aaqib Javed.
