Many veteran Australian players missed the Champions Trophy 2025 due to various reasons, and that was one of the fears for many franchises before the new edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood couldn’t take part in the recent eight-team tournament.
Cummins will lead the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and will hope to take the side a step further after finishing as the runners-up of the previous edition. Starc will be part of the Delhi Capitals side, while Hazlewood will be back for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Travis Head, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Spencer Johnson will head to the IPL despite their side already qualifying for the Shield final, which will begin on March 26. Xavier Bartlett, Josh Inglis, and Aaron Hardie will head to the Punjab Kings to play under Ricky Ponting’s coaching,

Mitchell Marsh aims to play as a batter in 2025 for LSG
Australia’s former T20I captain, Mitchell Marsh, will play for the Lucknow Super Giants in 2025 only as a batter and will travel next week. He will link up with the former opener, Justin Langer, on March 18, as the latter is entering his second season as the LSG coach.
March has not featured in a single game since playing in the BBL for the Perth Scorchers on January 07, while before that, his last white-ball games were in September. The all-rounder will hope to get some fine rhythm in 2025.
