Mohammad Amir, former Pakistan pacer, has predicted that with Jasprit Bumrah out of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to injury, the Indian team will not qualify for the knockouts of the event.

Reactions to India's ICC Champions Trophy selection were divided, with many criticizing the decision to include only three pacers and five spinners. Although it's not a given, India picked the team with the hopes that the spinners will benefit from the Dubai wickets.

Additionally, with all the dew around, the ball may skid and make batting easier if the team is bowling second. A fast bowler would have been useful in that situation.

India to make a group-stage exit: Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir, a former Pakistani pacer, believes that India may lose if they use Hardik Pandya, three spinners, and two specialist pacers.

Amir predicted that India would lose the tournament in the group round when discussing the team on the Pakistani program "Haarna Mana Hai." India doesn't have many choices without Bumrah and a rusty Mohammed Shami, according to Amir.

“Not having Bumrah a huge disadvantage for India, Shami has just returned and cannot be relied on. He was not the Shami of old when he bowled against England recently. They one main fast bowler in Arshdeep Singh. In Middle overs, India will depend on Kuldeep Yadav to give breakthroughs as even Ravindra Jadeja is not that effective,” Mohammad Amir said on the show.

Ahmed Shahzad also warns the Men in Blue

Ahmed Shahzad, who was also on the panel, supported Mohammad Amir's assertions, saying that Bumrah's defeat is a huge setback for India because the pacers will benefit from the conditions in Dubai.

However, Shahzad supported Pakistan and India to go to the semifinals. According to him, India is favored to make it to the knockout stages because their players are able to handle pressure.
