Mohammad Amir To Join Virat Kohli In RCB For IPL 2026? Pacer Drops Bombshell

Pakistan’s former left-arm pacer, Mohammad Amir, has revealed that he will be eligible to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2026 and if the opportunity comes, he will be thrilled to explore the part.
In the past, a few Pakistan players were part of the IPL, including Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Sohail Tanveer, but since the BCCI banned playing the bilateral games with the PCB, none of those two sides meet each other.

Mohammad Amir, whose wife Narjis is a UK citizen, is hoping to quickly get a UK passport that will open the doors for the batter to play in the 20-over tournament.

Mohammad Amir has collected 364 wickets in 309 T20 innings at an average of 22.60 and a strike rate of 18.7 with an economy rate of 7.24, shouldering on eight four-wicket hauls and a couple of five-wicket hauls at the best bowling figure of 6/17 in an innings.

Amir was talking about the former pacer and captain of the side, Wasim Akram, who was the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, and Ramiz Raza, who commented in the previous seasons of the league.
He addressed that Kohli has a lot of respect for Virat Kohli and cherishes the bat that the former Indian captain gifted him ahead of the T20 World Cup game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 2016.

The pacer revealed that he would love to share the dressing room with Kohli in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dressing room. Mohammad Amir’s partner in the show, Ahmed Shahzad, the former opening batter of the national side, claimed that the pacer could change RCB’s fortunes and lead them to their maiden IPL title.
IPL 2025 to start from March 22
The 18th edition of the 20-over franchise tournament will begin on March 22 between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and the RCB side in Kolkata.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will host the Rajasthan Royals in the afternoon encounter on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium before the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faces the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the evening fixture on the same day at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Kolkata will also host the final and second qualifier of the tournament on May 25 and 23, respectively, while Hyderabad will host the first qualifier and eliminator clash on May 20 and 21, respectively.
