For the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, Mohammed Siraj was left out because Rohit Sharma believed that "his effectiveness comes down when not bowling with the new ball." One of the topics of discussion among cricket analysts and fans was his exclusion from the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Following a string of tragic incidents, Mohammed Siraj has been playing brilliantly for the Gujarat Titans in the current IPL 2025. With 11 wickets from 7 games for the Gujarat Titans, Mohammed Siraj is one of the tournament's top wicket-takers.

Siraj concentrated on improving his skills, challenging himself more, and demonstrating that failures only serve to fortify a great warrior rather than moping about what he had lost.

Siraj was not broken by these setbacks; rather, they gave him more motivation, and he returned with the Gujarat Titans stronger.

The 2022 IPL champions purchased the 2024 T20 World Cup winner for an incredible INR 12.25 crore during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, demonstrating the Gujarat Titans' faith in his abilities and their significant investment in him.

“For a professional, an ICC event is incredibly important. I've always dreamed of playing in the Champions Trophy & doing well for my country, but perhaps it wasn't written in my destiny. It was difficult to reconcile, but I made peace with myself, focusing on improving and performing better. That has given me immense motivation,” Siraj told Cricbuzz.

Virat Kohli backed me a lot: Mohammed Siraj

Siraj has lavished his former RCB and India skipper Virat Kohli with accolades. While the Indian speedster has had many highs and lows along the way, Kohli has been a rock by his side.

He claimed that Kohli was there for him no matter what, even during his most trying times.

While some had doubts, Kohli had faith in Siraj, provided him with unwavering support, and cheered him up when he needed it most.

“Virat Kohli bhaiya gave me a lot of backing and support during my tough phases. I've witnessed many ups and downs. And Virat Bhaiya backs me a lot in my down phase,” Kohli said.

Siraj will be back in action on April 21 when the Gujarat Titans meet the defending champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, in the next IPL 2025 game at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
