MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli sent messages to Vaibhav Suryavanshi after his record ton for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 28, 2025, in Jaipur. This was revealed by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) team manager, Romi Bhinder.

There are many similarities between Suryavanshi and Dhoni, Bhinder said, adding that both players are composed and aggressive.

Vaibhav scores a magnificent 100

On Monday, April 28, Vaibhav crushed the second-fastest century in league history while playing the Gujarat Titans in Jaipur.

While pursuing a 210-run target, the southpaw scored 101 off 38 balls, including seven fours and eleven sixes. RR maintained their hopes of making the playoffs after snapping their five-game losing streak.

MS Dhoni called Vaibhav Suryavanshi the RR team’s baby

Vaibhav Suryavanshi met MS Dhoni during their match against the Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati, Romi Bhinder revealed in an interview with Sports Today.

Dhoni was really pleased with the 14-year-old's performance, according to Bhinder. The captain of CSK referred to Vaibhav as "the baby" in the Royals' squad.

"Yes, he met Dhoni in the last game we played in Guwahati. So he met Mahi. He will again meet him in our reverse fixture against CSK. But I can see similar traits in both men.

Both are calm and cool, but still play aggressive cricketing shots. So there are a few similarities. MS Dhoni also praised him a lot, he said, 'ok, you got the baby in your team. The baby is showing great shots like a mature player," said Bhinder.

Virat Kohli told Vaibhav Suryavanshi to stay grounded

When the Rajasthan Royals played the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had the chance to meet former India captain Virat Kohli. According to the RR team management, Kohli counselled Vaibhav to maintain his composure, his humility, and his hard work in order to succeed in the long run.

"Vaibhav likes Virat Kohli a lot. They met and shared a couple of tips. Virat also told him how to be grounded and how to stay humble and work hard," said Bhinder.

Vaibhav is set to face MS Dhoni again when the Rajasthan Royals face the Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on May 12. Meanwhile, the Royals have already completed both their home and away fixtures against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
