Suresh Raina lavished admiration on renowned captain MS Dhoni. According to Raina, Dhoni was instrumental in forming the careers of contemporary greats like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and himself.
MS Dhoni's remarkable leadership abilities and modest demeanor have earned him admiration. On the field, he has gained respect and is regarded as one of India's best captains. The Indian cricket team won three ICC tournaments under the leadership of the wicketkeeper-batter. In August 2020, he announced his retirement from international cricket.
In an interview with Filmygyan, Suresh Raina referred to MS Dhoni as the world's largest brand. Raina acknowledged that Dhoni had a significant influence on the development of players like himself, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, saying that some people are naturally gifted.
"He is the biggest brand in the world. Wherever he stands, the line starts from him. Even now, he's going strong and playing well. He has won the IPL five times, two Champions League titles, the World Cup, the Champions Trophy, and the Indian team’s trophy. Sometimes, people are born like this. He made Virat, Rohit, and me," Raina said.
MS Dhoni Was Born to Be a Leader - Suresh Raina
Despite being from Jharkhand, MS Dhoni rose to become the world's best captain, according to Suresh Raina. During their IPL playing days together, Raina exhibited the same tenacity and camaraderie as Dhoni. Raina also talked about Dhoni's development as a person and a leader.
"He has gone through so much pressure and has become the number one captain in the world, coming from Jharkhand. You can imagine how much hard work he has put in. When he used to work in the railway in Kharagpur, he was born to be a leader. The way people talk about him, but he is very determined in life."
"And he is a great friend. The way we live together, we trust each other. We play a lot of matches together for the IPL. And I have seen him, how he has grown as a leader, how he has grown as a person,” Raina added.
