Pakistan Cricketer Dies Playing Cricket While Observing Fast In Ramadan Month

In a tragic development, a Pakistani-origin cricketer named Junaid Zafar Khan collapsed and died of exhaustion while playing cricket in Adelaide, Australia. It is believed that Junaid couldn't tolerate the extreme heat of Adelaide and collapsed since he was fasting during the month of Ramadan.
Originally from Pakistan, Junaid Zafar Khan relocated to Australia over ten years ago. In 2013, he relocated from Pakistan to Adelaide in order to work in the technology sector. Even after leaving Pakistan, he continued to play cricket at the club level in Australia because he still loved the game.
Everyone in the cricket community is in shock over the incident. The location saw severe weather, with temperatures reaching 41.7 degrees Celsius. Because of this, Junaid, who was originally from Pakistan, was unable to endure the hard conditions and died.

The incident occurred during the Old Concordians vs. Prince Alfred Old Collegians game at Concordia College Oval on March 15 at approximately 4 p.m. ACDT. Junaid instantly fainted because he was unable to withstand the intense heat.
The paramedics attended to him right away, but he was unable to stand up. The arena frequently experienced temperatures above 40°C. According to the statutes of the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association, games may also be called off if the temperature hits 42°C.
During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Junaid Zafar Khan was fasting, according to the local media. It is thought that he was drinking water to stay hydrated during his fast and it is an exemption allowed to Muslims if they are not feeling well.
Old Concordians Cricket Club issues statement condoling the death of Junaid Zafar Khan
A statement regarding the unfortunate event was released by Junaid's club, the Old Concordians Cricket Club. The Club acknowledged that they made an unsuccessful attempt to save Junaid.
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of a valued member of the Old Concordians' Cricket Club, who tragically suffered a medical episode while playing on the Concordia College oval today. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he sadly did not survive. Thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, and teammates during this difficult time," the club stated.
A cricketing match played under extreme heat, between the Old Concordians and Prince Alfred Old Collegians, has ended in disaster.
