For the first time since 1996, Pakistan hosted an ICC event when it hosted matches for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given Pakistan the privilege to host the Women's World Cup Qualifiers, which is additional good news for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The final two teams for the World Cup, which will be held in India later this year, will be decided by the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers. For the prestigious competition, six teams have already guaranteed their places.

Final confirmation of dates and locations is still pending, but the qualifiers are anticipated to begin on April 4.

The ICC is expected to declare Pakistan as the site of the Women's World Cup Qualifiers, according to a report by Cricbuzz. The two remaining berths in the World Cup, which will be held in India in October, will be contested by six teams: Bangladesh, Thailand, Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, and Pakistan.

The matches will probably take place in Lahore, though the precise dates and locations have not yet been finalized. The Champions Trophy semifinal between South Africa and New Zealand was held in Lahore.

Pakistan will host the first-ever multi-team women's ICC event. The nation held a tri-series between South Africa and New Zealand as well as the current eight-team ICC Champions Trophy.

Of the eight teams, six have already guaranteed their places in the 2025 Women's World Cup. Host India, Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand are among the eligible teams. By placing first in the points standings of the ICC Women's Championship, these teams were granted direct participation.

Will Pakistan Women’s team travel to India for Women’s World Cup?

The political tensions between India and Pakistan are attracting attention ahead of the Women's World Cup qualifiers. Under ICC oversight, the BCCI and PCB have decided that any international match involving their national teams would take place at a neutral location.

For the current Champions Trophy, where India is playing all of its matches in Dubai, this arrangement is already in place. The location of an India-Pakistan encounter will be a significant concern if Pakistan's women's team makes it to the World Cup.

Pakistan women's squad may not be sent to India by the PCB. Notably, the World Cup scheduling may require intervention from the ICC.

India might use a Hybrid Model for Women's World Cup

In 2013, India used a partially hybrid strategy to host the Women's World Cup. Pakistan played their games at Cuttack because of security concerns brought on by threats from a political group, even though most of the matches were played in Mumbai.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL), which starts on April 11, will coincide with the country's next Women's World Cup qualifying round.
