The Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team will not be travelling to India for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi confirmed. Pakistan women qualified for the ICC Women's tournament alongside the Bangladesh Women’s team.

Pakistan women had to play the World Cup Qualifiers and managed to win all five of their games to secure a place in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025.

The ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers 2025 campaign ended without a loss for the hosts, who benefited from playing at home for the first time in the competition. In Lahore, Pakistan defeated Ireland Women by an exciting 38 runs to start their season.

They then won their second match against Scotland by six wickets. By defeating the West Indies Women by 65 runs, the Women in Green maintained their dominant play. In Lahore, Pakistan thrashed Thailand by an overwhelming 87 runs in their last group encounter.

To end the tournament on a high note and secure their spot in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025, which India will host later this year, Pakistan Women defeated Bangladesh Women by seven wickets in their final match.

India had already secured direct qualification as hosts for the mega event, while Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka have made it through based on their rankings from the last ICC Women’s Championship cycle.

Mohsin Naqvi reminds India of the hybrid agreement and confirms that Pakistan women will not travel

The Pakistan Women's National Cricket Team will not be visiting India for the Women's ODI World Cup later this year, according to Mohsin Naqvi, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Similar to how India participated in the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai using the hybrid approach, the PCB chief stated that the squad will play their games at a neutral location.

According to Naqvi, the ICC and India will choose a neutral location for Pakistan's games at the Women's ODI World Cup in 2025.

Champions Trophy was hosted in a Hybrid Model

Political issues prevented India from visiting Pakistan earlier this year when it hosted the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. They played their games in Dubai instead. For the women's team, the same approach will now be taken.

“Just like India didn't play in Pakistan in the Champions Trophy and were allowed to play at a neutral venue, whatever venue is decided, we will play [there]. When there is an agreement, it has to be adhered to,” Naqvi told reporters as quoted by PTI.

In addition to expressing satisfaction with the Pakistani squad's development, Naqvi said the PCB will shortly reveal a unique prize for the women's team for their outstanding performance during the qualifiers.

PCB chief lauds Women in Green

The PCB chief signed off by saying, “The team showed how to take home advantage and play like a collective unit. I am happy that women's cricket is doing well now.”

As per the hybrid model agreed earlier by the BCCI and PCB, if India or Pakistan hosts an ICC event till 2027, both teams will play their matches at neutral venues.
